Weekend Update

I know, i know, it's been awhile since we've posted. It's been a busy couple weeks. I'll try to cram it all into one post.
two weekends ago we went up to ogden-ish for logue's birthday. we thought he was turning 3 so we bought him this awesome three-year-old gift which brett picked out. then we looked at the invitation the next day and realized he was turning 2. plan ruined. we had to go back to target and get him a younger gift...mostly since the original gift SAID 3+, but it was really more of a 5+ gift. So we went up and visited Mike, one of brett's mission companion whose house we LOVE to visit (he lives with his family, so it's always nice to go to a real house). Then we headed up to the birthday party. All in all, a great weekend.Then LAST weekend, over the 4th, we went down to vegas to visit Justin and Michelle and just hang out. The main detail of the trip was definitely the heat. it was insanely hot. But it was still really fun! We did lots of shopping and got to see the strip a little more than we did last time we went to vegas...since last time we were deathly ill with carbon monoxide poisoning. My favorite hotel was definitely Caesar's palace...mixed with the fountains at the bellagio. i could probably just stand in front of the fountain all night and be more entertained than i would be by walking the strip. We got to watch some fireworks with some of las vegas's finest drivers....double parking, 5-try parallel parking, getting a running start to try and get a minivan up a steep dirt/gravel hill to get a couple feet higher....people there are crazy! but watching the people there was probably more entertaining than watching the fireworks haha! Then we went down to the Red Rock and watched their show, which was pretty great. Also, Matt, one of Brett and Justin's best friends growing up was coming through vegas that weekend on his way out to San Diego, so it was like a Buck Valley reunion! It was a great weekend with lots of cheeseburgers and delicious breakfasts (thanks to michelle!)
and we got to eat In-n-out twice, so even better.
