basket, hair, 911

as has been demonstrated in a previous post, piper loves this basket. it normally houses some of her smaller toys, but on occasion it houses piper. she sometimes tries to sit on the edge of it and ends up accidentally falling backwards into the basket. but sometimes, she just climbs right on in.

Here is a picture of piper. it sort of shows how her hair is getting in her eyes all the time now. we have since embraced the pigtails look (since piper refuses to keep a bow clipped into her hair by itself). i refuse to cut her hair so we have to style it.
This picture shows piper's head bruise. certainly not her worst-looking battle wound, but equally as certainly her scariest. piper fell and hit her head the saturday before memorial day. she let out one cry and then as she was winding up for the next cry (you know, the holding-her-breath part) she passed out. so the really loud second cry never came and piper would not wake up! 911 was called, piper did end up waking up and being clingy but alert by the time the paramedics came. they probably thought we were really lame because piper really seemed fine by the time they got there. but for crying out loud, she knocked herself out! we took her to the dr that day (bleh, after-hours...20 people ahead of us when we got there) and he reassured us that she was ok and that it was more likely that she was shocked and had the wind knocked out of her when she fell than that she bonked her brain on her skull since she did give the initial cry instead of passing out right away. anyway, still scary. but she's fine now, so don't be alarmed!
